Search engines' piracy policies
Do you love using search engines like Google, MSN or Yahoo to find information? Whenever you are using a search engine, the information about your short "stay" will be tracked: IP address, the research, profile and even your name (because so many people type their own name to know if others can find it!) This information is stored by the search engines - with no exception.
We have put together a summery about the search engines regulations:
Search engines' privacy policies| Search Engine | Anonymizes user data after: |
User control over data |
| 18 months | No | |
| Microsoft | 18 months | End 2007 |
| Yahoo! | 13 months | No |
| Ask | 18 months | AskEraser: End 2007 |
By the end of 2007 Microsoft and Ask want to launch a new system to give the user the choice about their personal information being stored or not.
